The SLS AMG is a front-engine limited edition car produced by Mercedes-AMG. Moreover this model was the first in- house design by AMG. Meaning that the car was designed and built from a scratch completely by AMG. The car’s design is strongly inspired by the 1950s 300 SL. They share the gullwing-doors, the side vents and even the SLS’s brake light is positioned where the 300 SL has a rear vent. SLS is the short version of “sport light super”. Revealed to the public in 2009 during the Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales of the car started in mid- 2010 in Europe and a year later in the United States. Production of the SLS AMG ended in early 2014 with the SLS AMG GT final edition. The SLS AMG accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 317 km/h.
